This is a pretty amazing statistic. Only 10 months after introducing its WDM product based on photonic integrated circuits, Infinera has captured the market leading position in the number of long haul 10Gbps ports shipped, according to a report released by Dell’Oro group. According to the press release: According to Dell’Oro, Infinera shipped 1449 wavelengths of 10 gigabit long-haul DTN systems to customers in the third quarter, for a 20% share of the total worldwide market of 7300 wavelengths. Nortel (NYSE: NT) ranked second in the market with a share of 17%. Alcatel (NYSE: ALA, Paris: CGEP.PA) and Siemens (NYSE: SI) tied for third, each with 9%.
